My hand was (no melds, playing North)
    Bamboo: 3,3,4,5,5,6,7,8,9,9
    Dots: 1,2,3
and the discard was Bamboo 4. I selected it for a B:3,4,5 chow
and had MahJong with B:3,4,5; B:6,7,8; D:1,2,3 and pair B:9,9.
SG Mahjong (not Lite) did not recognize that as Mahjong for me and would not continue until I discarded something.
This is the third time I have had this type of event.
Either SG Mahjong has a major bug or Singapore rules have a special clause which needs to be emphasized.
Note: I have an image saved showing this situation, but you have not published an email address to which I could send it.

If you are playing for sequence hand (and do not have any flowers), you can only game while waiting for 2 (or 3) tiles. The ways that you can game are:
    e.g. 1-1-4-5 waiting for 3, 6
    e.g. 2-3-4-5 waiting for 2, 5
    e.g. 1-1-3-4-5-6-7 waiting for 2, 5, 8
    e.g. 3-4-5-6-7-8-9 waiting for 3, 6, 9

You cannot game in these situations:
e.g. 1-4-5-6 waiting for 1 (you cannot wait on 1 tile only)
e.g. 1-1-4-6 waiting for 5 (you cannot wait for a middle tile)
e.g. 1-1-8-9 waiting for 7 (you cannot wait on 1 tile only)
e.g. 3-3-3-5 waiting for 4, 5 (as 4 is a middle tile, and 5 will cause a triplet in your hand)

In your case, you cannot game with Bamboo 4, but you can chow it. During the turn that you chow (or pong) you cannot game, so you must discard a tile. The unique rule for sequence hand is that you cannot game on a discard if you only wait on 1 tile. Self game is possible.

My email is clouette@gamefrontz.com. You can find it in About page.

I’ve had self draws also fail to win sequence hands. I’m afraid to go for them. I’ve had hands not win when waiting for 2 tiles (both ends of a chow) Glitch or obscure rule?

  5. mickeho says:

Bought the SG Mahjong from Apple Apps. There are only 133 tiles instead of 148. I counted them in the beginning of game and in stalemate mode.

Can u fix the problem for upgrading

    THanks

    • clouette says:

This is explained in version 2.3. In most mahjong, there is a dead wall. Singapore Mahjong has 15 tiles in the dead wall. These last 15 tiles will never be drawn in each game.

  6. pwct321 says:

I got the ver 2.3 but I did not find any where that I can switch it to chinese language.

Also I found the tile a bit small and often double click the tile will just display the menu (because easily touch on the empty space), instead of discard the tile. Also due to tile is small and finger can cover more than 1 tile and easily discard wrong tile. Anyway to zoom it before discard or make the tile display bigger for easy to discard?

I have tried the Taiwan Mahjong and their tile is 3 dimensional and bigger and easy to discard with just 1 click (like playing real mahjong).

Also please have advanced options for
    1. discarder always pays for all, not just in 9/12 tiles bao situations
    2. can also make discarder pay for all kong
    3. if discarder causes am kong and then one up card games, then discarder bao’s

When are you guys porting sg mahjong to android!!!!

  12. Ong Boon Lay says:

I play Singapore Mahjong quite a lot and lately, it seems to crash for no reason at all. It happens usually when I start up the game. The program will anytime until the first move is played. Once the move is accepted, the game plays OK. Until then, the game will crash and return to the iPhone screen. Also, you guys haven’t resolved the sequence bug, where even though I have a valid sequence hand, I can’t game. This only happens when I don’t have flowers and therefore worth 4 points. It’s a lot of points to lose. Isn’t it time for an update?
