I love this game when I played it with my friends at the same place. This is the best part of having a Wii, you have more fun playing with others than playing alone. It is not a selfish system.

My favourite character is Peach. She is strong and quite fast. And her recovery method is one of the best. Only her final smash is not so powerful.

    Gameplay: 9.5
    Fun-level: 10.0
    Graphics: 8.5
    Music: 9.8
    Replayability: 10.0
Online quality: 7.5 (why cannot random matches?)
    Overall score: 9.5

  2. Mamboberg says:

The best game to date if you got a wii. All sort of modes. play with different rules, stages and 35 characters, no 2 games are the same!

Other side modes like the subspace, challengers and many more. Collecting stickers and Trophy will be a longterm but fulfilling experience. Its a must have!

SO far, i use Kirby alot but the final smash abit funny.

    Gameplay: 10.0
    Fun-level: 10.0
    Graphics: 8.0
    Music: 9.0
    Replayability: 10.0
Online quality: 7.0 (Poor in some sense when you compare it to xbox live)
    Overall score: 9.0

  3. kolslorr says:

This game is worth buying for the production quality alone.

I havent got time to fully enjoy all the modes and try all the different characters, but from my limited experience I wld say Kirby is the easiest and hence the best character to play…

Definitely a must buy for any Wii owners… although I have a few friends who sorta hated this game.. cant blame them.. they are not true gamers… but we are…. =)

    Gameplay: 9.0
    Fun-level: 10.0
Graphics: 9.5 (Its the best for Wii)
    Music: 9.0
    Replayability: 10.0
Online quality: 4.0 (Worse than most 10-yr-old PC game)
    Overall score: 8.5

  4. kaxdd says:

Definitely worth owning if you have a Wii and are a fan of Nintendo! This game will provide endless hours of fun, especially if you have a group of friends brawling together.

Still trying to buy a Classic Controller because my thumb hurts after using only the Wii remote to play the game.

My favourite character is Donkey Kong and Lucario. Donkey Kong because he deals great damages and is more mobile than Bowser. But his final smash sucks big time. Lucario because he’s very mobile and his moves are very elegant.

    Gameplay: 9.5
    Fun-level: 9.5
    Graphics: 10.0
    Music: 10.0
    Replayability: 10.0
Online quality: N.A (haven’t try that yet)
    Overall score: 9.5

  5. twe75 says:

Like the game as it has fighting element and adventure all rolled into one and the graphics are good too . However as iā€™m very poor in maze thingy so i would say that i hate the maze part cos i really waste alot of time just to find the doors and untill now i still haven manage to find some of the doors yet . Haven try all the modes yet but i mainly like the battle mode cos i suck in skills šŸ˜›
    Fun lvl 8
    graphics 8
    music 7
    gameplay 8
    Replayability 8
Online quality NA (Cos until now i still haven manage to get it online yet )
    Overall 8

  6. LightStixx says:

Fantastic game. I like the Space Emissary Story mode. Spent over 10 hours playing that alone. But he final boss was a bitch to fight. Wonderful overall gameplay, except that Space Emissary mode requires the camera to be fixed on P1, which doesn’t allow P2 any freedom of movement.

Online mode is fun. However, no chat available while waiting etc. I experienced lag during my gameplay (only tried once), so my online score is lower. It would change if i get to play online more.

I like using Kirby, coz of his eat-other-people-then-copy-their-ability ability. Overall, quite good survivability too. Apart from him, I also use Metaknight, Yoshi and Mr. Game&Watch. Gotta find one that sticks… -_-

Gameplay: 9.0 (due to Space Emissary)
Fun-level: 9.0 (due to Space Emissary final boss)
    Graphics: 8.0
    Music: 10.0
    Replayability: 11.0 (possible?)
Online quality: 7.0 (laggy, no chat, no random play)
    Overall score: 9.0

  7. combatjammer says:

I have to admit. The only part I like about this game is the Subspace Emissary storyline. Beyond that, the game just got rather dull after a while. Yes, there are tons of trophies to unlock, stickers to collect and mini games to play, but they all fail to impress me as much as the SSE went.

The online mode was a total waste of time. I managed to meet up with a friend…. once. Beyond that, it’d been laggy, laggy, laggy. Try hooking up with a random user, and … oh wait … that’s right …. what random user? The online component of the game is just as bad as final boss of the SSE. Difficult to handle, hard to use, a challenge all in all.

The music is definitely a strong point too. It’s amazing the way they have orchestrated the whole game has just been astounding. From the start you get to listen to the rich sounds that I’ve not heard from any other game, anywhere.

    Gameplay: 9
    Fun-level: 9.0
    Graphics: 8
    Music: 10
    Replayability: 8.0
Online quality: 3 (why cannot random matches?)
    Overall score: 8

  8. JeffreyisME says:

Honestly, i did not really enoy this game, yes, i hear you saying “WHAT!?!?!? SSBB IS THE BEST GAME EVER!!!!” But if you are not really a fan of fighting games, this isnt a good choice. If theres one thing i hate most is to spam buttons onto my wiimote.

Subspace has a really weak story, its like the process of unlocking characters but with cutscenes included. Solo play was much more fun(espicially when playing with friends)

Music is AWESOME, i loved it espicially the pokemon stage where the elite four (i think) main music was sort of remixed. In short, Great music.

Graphics wise, looks like SSBMelee plus. Not very great but still acceptable. Anyway the wii is not built for graphical powerness.

Gameplay- 6.5 (dont like button mashing)
Graphics- 7 (looks okay for the wii)
    Music- 9.5 (Great music)
Replay Value- 7.5 (For me, fighting gets boring real quickly)
    OVERALL—–> 7.6 / 10

Good game but if you dont enjoy fighting games (like me) You be better off with other wii games. I am gonna get Pro soccer evo, you selling them clouette??

  9. vanilla says:

first, i think i do need to state i am not a hardcore gamer, but an old gamer who likes the classics, like side scrolling marios, shooters, and puzzle game… i did not go through the ps2 era [no money, more on studies][which i guess also explain my difficulty with playing 3d platformers, and 2stick shooters],

and but i do like fighting games, and tends to play them repeatedly for no particular reason…

i guess thats why i love brawl so much… and i don’t much reason to hate it as brawl is my first smash brothers game…

    anyway, on to the review…

gameplay-wise, its more of a mix of 2d platforming and fighting game… some people would argue its not a fighting game [ well, it isn’t purely a fighting game anyway], but it features most of the basics for fighting games: risk/reward for moves, spacing, etc…

but because of its very unique mechanic for its win condition, it plays very differently from most traditional fighting games…

for its fun factor, there’s a lot things that makes brawl fun on many levels… playing it alone, you have the subspace emissary mode [ depends entirely on you though, i did not find it very amusing… its too long for me… thanks to my brother who finished it for me.. its more of a task than a fun experience, as it is the easiest way to unlock all the characters… ]…

also there’s challeges, like the events, the homerun thingie, the target smash, the multi man brawl… these things alone can give you a fun experience, even if you don’t touch the main mode of brawling…

and also unlocking the different “achievements” in the game rewards you with more stages, music, trophies, stickers, etc… so it feels worth it to try and unlock them…

on multiplayer, there’s offline and online… offline has been the strength of smash brothers [from what ive read], it still continues on that… online is the new direction that it is taking… despite the crippled online service of nintendo, online battles with friends [friends= those you added though friend codes exchange] are usually lag-free [or at least very minimal]
[my experience is with 1-on-1 only, i haven’t tried 3 or 4 player brawls, and only with friends from singapore also]

although i haven’t tried playing online with ps3 or 360[only with PC], i can now see why a means of communication is needed to truly appreciate brawl, as it is a very competitive game, even just for friendly matches, telling your opponent that he’s good or he should practice more is really something that is missing from it…
[well, all of the wii online games are missing them anyways]

on graphics, we all know that the wii isn’t a powerhouse in the category, but suffice to say, brawl is among the best looking wii games out there… and the “jaggies”, the most prominent visual defect of wii games, are noticably reduced in the game… the animations fluid… for a wii game, its graphics are topnotch…

sound/music… musics from different game franchises? no more comment…
    [ = great! ]
[and also, the intro theme alone is great… it gives you the feeeling that you are about to enter some grandiose event or something…]

replayablity… as with most fighting game, this game has a high grade of replayability… with a ton of characters to use, a number of stages to brawl on, a myriad of music to accompany your fights, brawls won’t get so repetitive… and if you do get tired of brawling, there are of other modes to distract you until you feel the want to brawl again…

more on online… its kinda hard to find a match on random matches… its better just to go a forum/website where you can exchange friend codes… no means of commucation whatsoever [except for you taunts]…

if you don’t like the core mechanic of the game [ inflict damage -> make them fly … i guess some hardcore fighting games crowd won’t like this ], don’t buy the game…

but other than that, its very hard not to recommend this game, and this is the type of game you could play for a long, long time…

[sorry, i don’t give scores, so you people should just read what i wrote hehe…. ]

i just started this game, but for some reason, i still dont get the mechanics of this game. Feel different from the other fighting games i played.
