Humour, action, cell shade, GTA clone, blood all into one amazing package “No More Heroes”

With the wiimote and nunchuk controls, this game comes into life with all the “shaking” of the remotes. Fast pace actions and really humourous conversation, make this game a top action game for the wii so far.

The amount of activities outside the main story mission needs to be better. The game suffers from lack of content in some areas and after finishing the main quests, there aint much replay value to it.

Online quality: No online (A 12 players death match with the light sabre going to be cool)
    Overall score: 8.7

Probably a step up from Killer7, this gem from Suda51 has certainly made a mark at the start of 2008. Despite good reviews from major sites, sales for No More Heroes has been somewhat sluggish. Though I’m not surprised given the mixed genre of the game and its stylistic approach.

The story is pretty straight forward. You assassinate (read: bash into their apartments and kill them) people up the ranks of killers as you ascend upwards, taking their positions. Then Suda51 has you going around doing some simplistic chores to earn money to gain access to killing more people. So basically, its pretty much a slugfest.

Gameplay-wise, No More Heroes utilized the wiimote by doing basic maneuvers to create simple and yet different stances. This is done in moderation, which is actually a plus point to the gameplay. You get to learn more moves as you would in other similar games.

Story-wise, nothing new. Except the Italian girl is really funny and most of the bosses are really different and spectacular. I also kinda like the presentation of the game such that it gives a very ghetto feel, though it might not be as widely accepted as better rendered 3d models in other games, though I must say it does pretty well on the Wii despite some limitations.

All in all, a pretty enjoyable game.
